What is a searchable PDF file and why should you use it?

searchable pdf

A searchable PDF is a standard PDA document that combines an image layer AND a text layer. What you see is an image of your document and underneath, there is a text version (ASCII text) of every text zone of your file.

The main benefit of having a text layer in your PDF document is the ability to perform searches within its content.
