Closing the Gap Conference

Closing the Gap ’17: IRIS to showcase scanners for the inclusive classroom

Closing the Gap 2017 : IRIS will be at the 35th edition of this conference in Minnesota (US), from the 18th to the 20th October 2017. This is annual three-day event includes more than 175 presentations. It also gives you access to an extensive exhibition hall, where all the latest tools for assistive technology will be displayed.

This event is focused on the following issues: Assistive Technology in Special Education, Rehabilitation and Everyday Living. IRIS’ products can be of great help for tackling these challenges and can be used as tools for inclusive education. Here are some examples:

  • IRISPen™ 7: This digital pen allows you to scan lines of printed text directly into digital text, which can be instantly translated and read out loud to you (thanks to the Text to Speech functionality).
  • IRISNotes™ 3: The digital note-taker! Take handwritten notes as you usually would (normal ink & paper); all of these notes are stored in a small receiver and can be later uploaded and digitized on your computer to be 100% editable.
  • IRIScan™ Book 5: Just swipe this scanner over the page you want (in a book, magazine, newspaper,…) and you’ll have it scanned in less than two seconds. The included conversion software Readiris lets you convert your scans to a high number of formats, including the audio .wav format if you want to create audio books.
